Lucky Sky Ride Preston participant wins Sir Chris Hoy masterclass!
Lucky Alex Hall from Preston will be taking centre stage in the velodrome at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester for a master class with Sir Chris Hoy. Alex will be the envy of all his friends as he takes to the track alongside his hero.
Alex joined thousands of Preston residents in registering for and taking part in Sky Ride Preston in June. Together with thousands of other hopefuls who registered online, he was entered into a draw for the chance to win a once in a lifetime cycling experience with the UK’s greatest cyclist of all time, Sir Chris Hoy. With one amazing summer of cycling ahead of us, British Cycling and Sky can now reveal the winner.
Peter Haymes, Recreation Manager for British Cycling said: ‘We’re delighted to announce the winner. Sky Ride Preston was such a fantastic event for all the family and for Alex winning this priceless prize with Sir Chris Hoy is just the icing on the cake.’ Other lucky Preston winners include Jason Burge who won a signed Team Sky jersey; Richard McCann who won a brand new bike, and Darren Maunder who can celebrate this incredible year of cycling by watching it all on his new Sky+HD package.
Sky Ride Preston inspired thousands to take to their bikes, but it doesn’t end there. Sky Ride Local rides take place throughout Preston this summer. These free, informal, community rides at all levels are the perfect opportunity to get out on your bike and have fun with friends and family.
