Enjoy free taster sessions with the Open Week of Sport
With not long to go until the Olympic Games start in London, Lancaster City Council and many local sports clubs, societies and venues are joining forces to celebrate with a special Open Week of Sport.
The week takes place from 23-29 April 2012 when more than 25 activities and taster sessions will be on offer. Events will take place at a variety of locations across the district and include water polo, cycle racing, kayaking, rush hockey, cricket, tennis, netball and football.
There are also a number of activities aimed at smaller children such as a family fun day in Halton and pre-school children’s activities at Lancaster University. The majority of activities are free and people can just turn up on the day to take part – check the programme for more details and which activities need to be pre-booked.
Also included in the Open Week of Sport is your chance to your chance to help raise money for Sport Relief with the Swimathon and Big Splash at Salt Ayre. Don’t miss out on what promises to be an energetic week of sport and warm up for the Olympics.
