Preston funnyman

Phil Ellis has established a reputation as a unique, reliable and exciting act. A regular MC on the national circuit, his natural and instantly likeable style has proved a hit with promoters and audiences alike.

Regularly MCing at big weekend clubs such as Highlight and the Frog and Bucket, Josh knew he had his work cut out when he went along to see him host a night of comedy in Preston.

Booked regularly to host music festivals and charity nights, Phil recently played compère to Hull University’s summer ball in front of a 3500 strong crowd. He has also co-written 3 short comedy films called ‘Phil’s ill’ for the channel ‘Dave’, which was critically acclaimed, receiving ‘pick of the day’ status in such publications as the ‘The Times’, ‘The Guardian’ and the Daily Mail’.

Widely regarded as a very strong support act, he often utilises an old fashioned slide projector to make off-the-wall observations and tell hilarious family stories. His ability to think on his feet means that there is always a slight twist to his set, something Josh found out he went along for a chat.
