Scrolls of Friendship head out across the world
Head out across the World
In 1952 a new Guild tradition started which captured the warm spirit of Preston. Scrolls of friendship were sent to the major cities in Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand to collect messages from ex-Prestonians who had emigrated to these countries.
With the Guild edging ever closer, Preston's very own Olympic Athlete and Guild Ambassador Helen Clitheroe started off their journey at Preston Railway Station by delivering them into the safe hands of Andrew Clare a representative of Virgin Trains on the first leg of their trip around the world.
