Porkers in the Trough!
Porsche Club of GB
Porsche enthusiasts from across the North West and even further afield gathered at Garstang for the annual Porsche GB Lancs and Cumbria Region "Porkers in the Trough" event.
For the unititiated "Porkers" is the nickname given by Club Members to their Pride and Joy and as the event wound its way through the picturesque Trough of Bowland that explains the other part of the title!
But in case you run away with the idea that this was some noisy motorsporting event despoiling the Lancashire Countryside, it was anything but. It's more of a Concours d'Elegance for proud Porsche Club owners who wend their leisurely way from Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club to the elegant Gawthorpe Hall at Padiham and then return.
Blessed with good weather, the event saw a wide range of Porsches taking part - from an original 1965 Porsche 911 imported from the USA to the very latest Porsche Boxster Spyder.
Lancashire One's Jonny Nelson landed himself in the hot seat, navigating for Simon Butterworth of specialist supplier Porsch-apart in a modified 2000 Boxster S which Simon uses for Sprint and Hillclimb Championships.
As well as giving all the participants a great day out, the event managed to raised nearly £500 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
