St George's Day

Date: 23/04/11
- Lytham

in Lytham St Annes.

St George's Day is celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of Saint George's death in AD 303. For Eastern Orthodox Churches who use the Julian calendar, 23 April corresponds to 6 May on the civil calendar.

On Saturday the 23rd of April 2011 Jonny Nelson and the Lancashire One crew joined the good people of Lytham St Annes to help celebrate the 3rd annual St George's Day celebrations.

It started with the ceremonial raising of the flag of St George on Lytham Green, and continued with a parade through the streets of Lytham.
